Clinical Pilates + Occupational Therapy

A highly specialized, one-on-one experience that blends licensed occupational therapy with intentional, Pilates-based movement. Designed for those seeking a more comprehensive approach, this service delivers individualized, clinically informed care to support how you move, feel, and function.

Occupational therapy is a personalized, holistic healthcare approach focused on helping you perform and engage in your daily life at your highest level. While traditionally associated with rehabilitation, it extends far beyond injury—addressing how you move, exercise, manage stress, and sustain energy to support overall well-being.

MEET LILY ZUCARO

Our Occupational Therapist

Lily Zucaro, OTR/L is a licensed occupational therapist whose practice is grounded in a simple belief: lasting change happens when the mind and body are treated as one system. Currently practicing in pediatric behavioral health at Nationwide Children's Hospital, she works with individuals to develop adaptive coping strategies, build sustainable routines, and create meaningful behavioral change — the foundational work of occupational therapy.

"Occupational therapy isn't about fixing the body in isolation — it's about restoring the ability to live fully."

Her Pilates x OT model fuses evidence-based movement training with the core OT framework of meaningful function. Informed action is at the heart of everything she does — each session is built on a clear understanding of why the body and mind respond the way they do, so that the work you do together translates into real, lasting shifts in daily life. Sessions address not only how the body moves, but the behavioral and neurological patterns that determine whether change will last — designed around your occupations, your goals, and your life.

  • One population Lily is especially passionate about working with is women navigating the perinatal and postnatal period. Her graduate research examined occupational balance and matrescence — the biopsychosocial transformation a woman undergoes as she becomes a mother — across a large sample, generating insights she did not keep in the classroom. She went on to activate that research through programs designed specifically for mothers, translating evidence into structured, supportive experiences that meet women where they actually are.

Matrescence reshapes identity, routine, relationships, and the body simultaneously — and yet it rarely receives the clinical attention it deserves. Lily's approach is rooted in informed action: understanding the why behind what your body and nervous system are experiencing, then building practical, personalised strategies from that knowledge rather than guesswork or generic advice.

Motherhood is not recovering from an injury — but it is a fundamental reorganisation of self, and every reorganisation deserves the same thoughtful, evidence-informed support that rehabilitation provides. Recovery takes many forms, and all of them are valid here.

Whether you are preparing your body and mind for birth, finding your footing in the postnatal months, or simply trying to feel like yourself again — this work was built with you in mind.

The Process

Each client begins with a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a licensed Occupational Therapist. This in-depth assessment analyzes posture, joint mobility, movement mechanics, core and pelvic floor function, nervous system regulation, and lifestyle demands to uncover underlying imbalances and movement patterns.

From there, we create a personalized plan of care that integrates evidence-based therapeutic techniques with the precision and flow of Pilates. Sessions are designed to improve strength, stability, motor control, and functional alignment—supporting not just recovery, but long-term resilience and performance.

Who this is for…

This offering is ideal for those navigating chronic discomfort, preventing or recovering from injury, addressing pelvic floor concerns, or seeking a more intentional, proactive approach to movement and overall health.

Where clinical expertise meets intentional movement.

This is not traditional Pilates. It is a refined, clinically guided experience designed to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance—delivering a higher standard of care.
