COLUMBUS + WESTERVILLE

Reformer Pilates in Columbus, the PBA way.

Strength. Control. Precision.
And yes, probably some shaking.

Our Reformer Pilates classes in Columbus and Westerville combine true Pilates foundations with the contemporary, strength-focused approach Pilates by Ashtyn is known for.

WHAT IS REFORMER PILATES?

The reformer is designed to move with you.

The Pilates reformer uses a moving carriage, springs, straps, and adjustable resistance to support and challenge your body through a full range of movement.

That resistance can make an exercise more supportive, more challenging, or both. This is why Reformer Pilates works for so many different bodies and experience levels.

At PBA, we use the reformer to build strength, stability, control, coordination, and a deeper connection to how your body moves.

And no, you do not need to know what any of the springs do before you walk in. That’s our job.

THE BENEFITS OF REFORMER PILATES

Where control meets strength.

Reformer Pilates challenges more than your core. Your entire body is working together through controlled resistance and intentional movement.

Build Full-Body Strength

Springs create resistance that challenges your legs, glutes, core, arms, and back through every phase of movement.

Build Deep Core Strength

The reformer asks your deep core and stabilizing muscles to stay engaged while the rest of your body moves around them.

Improve Control + Coordination

Moving the carriage with intention requires balance, body awareness, stability, and precision.

Get Strong Without Beating Up Your Body

Reformer Pilates gives you a challenging, low-impact way to build strength and endurance without relying on high-impact movement.

Support Everything Else You Do

Run. Lift. Golf. Play pickleball. Chase your kids. Whatever your thing is, Pilates builds the strength, stability, and control that can complement the rest of your training (and your actual life.)

BEGINNER REFORMER PILATES

First class? You’re exactly where you should be.

You do not need to be flexible. You do not need a strong core. And you definitely do not need to understand the reformer before you get here.

Our instructors will walk you through setup, springs, form, and movement so you can focus on learning instead of wondering what the heck you're supposed to be doing.

Not sure yet? Mat Pilates is also an incredible place to build your foundation before stepping onto the reformer.

Reformer Pilates FAQs

Is Reformer Pilates beginner friendly?

Yes. Our signature Reformer Pilates class is beginner friendly, and Intro to Reformer is specifically designed for clients with 0–3 reformer classes.

What should I take for my first Reformer Pilates class?

Start with Intro to Reformer or our signature Reformer Pilates class. We recommend waiting to take Power, Spicy, or Cardio classes until you're comfortable with the reformer and PBA method.

Do I need Pilates experience?

No. We'll guide you through the equipment, setup, springs, form, and movement.

Is Reformer Pilates good for strength training?

Yes. Reformer Pilates uses adjustable spring resistance and controlled movement to challenge muscles throughout the body. At PBA, many of our Reformer classes intentionally emphasize full-body strength, muscular endurance, stability, and control.

What's the difference between Mat and Reformer Pilates?

Both are rooted in Pilates principles. Mat Pilates primarily uses your body weight and props, while Reformer Pilates adds the resistance and support of the reformer apparatus. We believe both have an important place in a well-rounded Pilates practice.
